Early 20th-century oak barrister bookcase, also known as a stacking or lawyer’s bookcase. Originally designed for lawyers and scholars, this modular form allowed library storage to grow over time through the addition of individual stackable sections.
This example features a larger base unit with two stackable upper sections, each fitted with smoothly operating sliding glass doors. The piece is in excellent condition, with fully functional hardware and clean, well-preserved surfaces throughout.
Offering both practicality and classic antique character, this three-tier barrister bookcase is an ideal solution for book storage, display, or office use, and represents a particularly strong, well-kept example of the form.
