A wonderful early pine storage cupboard removed from its original log home in Glen Robertson, Glengarry County, Ontario.
This piece remained in the Beaupré family from the time of its construction until we acquired it — a true one-owner rural survivor with genuine local provenance.
Constructed with both rosehead and square nails, the cupboard reflects early 19th-century building methods. The exterior shows very old over-paint, worn beautifully with time, while the interior retains its original mustard paint — a warm and highly desirable early colour that speaks to its untouched authenticity.
The form is simple and honest — tall, narrow, and practical — built for function rather than display. Its clean lines and age-softened surface give it strong primitive presence without excess.
